About Bradford Tomiki Aikido Club
Bradford Tomiki Aikido Club has been providing Aikido training for juniors (6 years to 15years) and seniors (16+ yrs) for over 40 years. Although a martial art, Aikido competions are held in the UK and worldwide, with events including Kata, Open Kata, Kakarigieko, Ninin Dori and Randori.
The club's principle coach is Garrett Baxter who started training in Aikido in 1985. He training with Chandra Kaur in Bradford and and Bob Jones in Leeds. In 1993, Garreet took over from Chandra Kaur as the principle coach of the Bradford Tomiki Aikido Club.
Club members take part in domestic Aikido competitions organised by the British Aikido Association (BAA) and international competitions organised by the Worldwide Sport Aikido Federation (WSAF). Club members have competed in competitions held in the UK, Japan, USA, Netherlands, Switzerland and Russia.
