About 2 DASH - Derbyshire & South Yorkshire Harriers
2DASH aims to be a "Club for Life" with all members being encouraged and motivated to achieve their full potential both in sport and everyday life. We are an inclusive Club who welcome all abilities, disabilities and ambitions and understand that individuals want to be part of the club, for a variety of reasons, all of which are considered to be of equal importance. Whether as an athlete, coach, official, sponsor, donor, volunteer or family member everyone is welcome.
We offer a range of quality athletics coaching, delivered by UK Athletics qualified coaches, to athletes from the age of 8 to adult and veterans. We base our coaching sessions on Athletics 365 that provides many tried and tested coaching systems in a competency centered framework. All of our coaches are up to date with the latest developments in coaching practices though workshops and programmes such as "Accelerate Your Coaching".We encourage and support everyone, regardless of age and ability, to achieve their full potential in line with their personal ambition and first and foremost to enjoy participating in athletics. We focus in providing a warm and friendly environment where friendships and teamwork can flourish whilst supporting all athletes to be independent taking ownership of their training and performance using an athlete centered approach. All decisions are based on what is good for the well-being and long term development of every single member of the club.
Athletics provides a great opportunity to develop, apart of the physical qualities, the behavioural, social and psychological requirements of young people and to reinforce those same skills and values in grown ups. The involvement of family and friends is therefore actively encouraged at all times through a number of different roles – coaching, officiating, volunteering and more. Contact us to find out how to get involved.
