Team Manager - Sheffield Junior Sharks Age Group Team

The Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club are looking for Team Managers for their Junior Sharks age group teams. Opportunities are available at various age groups on a voluntary basis.

Purpose

• To manage the organisation of the junior team from an administrational point of view.
• To maintain up to date and accurate records of attendance and administrate certain aspects of the team as detailed below.
• To work closely with the age-group Head Coach in creating an effective high performance environment.

Key Duties

• To maintain and update accurate records of participation and participant details.
• To collect fees from participants, as and when instructed to do so by the club secretary.
• To feedback to the club secretary and safeguarding manager with any concerns or problems immediately as they arise.
• To manage the administration and organisation of Sheffield Junior Sharks home game day. Further instructions and training will be provided on the detail of this and all other tasks.
• To communicate with players and parents on organisation detail relating to the team (e.g. travel details for away) and to attempt find solutions as they arise.
• To comply with and enforce all Sheffield Sharks Policies relevant to the role.
• To ensure that the team fosters at positive and productive environment, which puts the needs of the child first and ensures their physical, emotional and development needs are being met.
• To ensure any safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.
• To conduct and present themselves in a way which is consistent with the professional ethos of the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club.
• To maintain and develop a successful image and profile of the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club, including in any media commitments as may be required.

Person Specification (Key Skills and Experience Essential to the Role)

• Good communication skills with players, coaches, club staff and parents
• Attention to detail and an ability to take the lead and make decisions when authorised to do so.
• Conveys an image consistent with the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Club values.
• Willing to work irregular and unsociable hours to fulfil the commitments of the role.
• Show integrity and is fair, equitable and ethical in approach.
