About Legacy Combat Academy
Legacy Combat Academy is the premier martial arts academy (Taekwondo focused) based in the heart of South Yorkshire in the "steel city" of Sheffield. We are a member of British Taekwondo which is the National Governing Body for Olympic Taekwondo (World Taekwondo) and provides internationally recognised Black Belt (Dan) grading (Kukkiwon).
The Legacy Combat Academy is committed to and promotes quality martial arts training for all. This means that it suitable for all ages from 5 years upwards and all abilities. Previous martial arts training is not required and therefore is great for families to be involved in an activity together. The ethos is for people to come and enjoy martial arts for whatever your interest or motivation and can include competitive sport pursuit (sparring or forms competitions), for health (physical training, confidence and wellbeing) or martial arts (self-defence) skill development. The academy is committed to being a safe but challenging environment for all to grow and develop in their martial arts training.
The academy has a history rooted in experience of training with local, national and international masters and grandmasters in Taekwondo and other fighting arts. The ethos of the academy is therefore to appreciate this legacy of instructors and masters who have provided the foundational instruction and teaching to build upon so that students in the academy can benefit from this to achieve their individual goals. The academy instructors will build upon this extensive legacy and provide a challenging but rewarding learning environment for all. Therefore in order to go forward and progress it is important to build on the traditions and foundations of the significant teachers who have previously inspired and provided instruction in the martial arts training. This is an important part of martial arts authenticity in recognising lineage and heritage of forbearers. The academy recognises the value of different styles of martial arts and therefore if you train with us it should complement whatever other martial art training you might be doing.
