About British Disabled Fencing Association

The British Disabled Fencing Association (BDFA) is the governing body for the paralympic sport of Wheelchair Fencing in Britain.

This exciting sport was developed by Sir Ludwig Guttmann at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital. It was introduced at the 1960 Paralympic Games in Rome and is a thriving national and international sport with over 25 competing nations.

The BDFA has something for everyone and can provide a path to becoming a paralympic champion, a regular workout among friends or a social base with the odd bit of exercise thrown in. In other words it is as intense and ambitious as you want it to be.
