About Solihull Active Project Officer - Children and Young People

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer who is passionate about providing sports and physical activity opportunities for children, young people and their families.

The Project Officer is an integral member of the Solihull Active Team within Public Health responsible for delivering the Children and Young People Programme as part the Solihull on the Move Framework, supporting a series of projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Officer is responsible for directing, organising and controlling project activities, under the direction of the Senior Solihull Active Officer.

As Solihull Active Project Officer you will be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of children and young people projects including the design, monitoring and evaluation, financial regulation, and marketing and promotion of programmes. You will also provide comprehensive management of the Solihull Active's Family Weight Management programme 'Eat Well Move More' to deliver a customer focused service, including management of staff.

You will have:

  • A relevant degree level qualification (or equivalent) .
  • Demonstrable experience in programme coordination and/or complex project management, working with children and/or young people
  • Experience of working to tight timescales and prioritising tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
