How can your sports club or group contribute to a greener Yorkshire?

In the first of a series of events to coincide with COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, we are inviting people who are part of sports clubs or groups, to learn about some of the ways in which their club can contribute to a brighter future for our planet.

The event will provide a start point for some of the ways your club or group can operate to make a more sustainable future for everyone.

We will be joined by:

Chris Whitaker
Chris is the Chair of the Management Board for BASIS - The British Association for Sustainable Sport.

BASIS is the sustainability hub for the UK sports industry with a fierce belief in sustainable sport: a not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering a positive impact for sport at every level, and harnessing the power of sport to make a difference for all. He Chairs the management committee made up of the members of BASIS, who are drawn from a range of national governing bodies, venues and independent members representing service businesses and suppliers to sport.

He will provide an overview of the current situation, how it is impacting sports clubs, and the ways in which sports clubs can adapt and thrive.

Andrew Kenure, co-founder of Action for Sport
Action For Sport is a charity dedicated to the removal of poverty as a barrier to disadvantaged children and young people participating in sport. They are based in Yorkshire and are proud to support both our local communities and communities all around the UK. They will explain how their 'Bring your Boots' campaign is supporting more children to play sport, while helping to prevent old kit end up in landfill.

The event will include a question and answer session with our panelists. Questions can be submitted in advance when booking your place, or can be asked on the night.

There is no limit on the number of people a club or group can have attending the webinar.
